This course offers an introduction to the direct experience of meditative states of questioning the mind. The Buddha worked like a physician; he formulated the Four Noble Truths which can be understood as: illness, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. His medical perspective included a specific approach that was used in questioning the mind; his investigated mind took him to absolute peace.
The class will be based on four types of questions: analytical, categorical, cross questioning; and questions that should be put aside. A variety of meditation techniques will be taught, with an emphasis on breath work and deep inquiry into our sense of self.
Participants will gain insight into how internal stress is created unintentionally; how to establish appropriate intention; cultivate wise view; and resolve mental conflicts. This will support established skills and allow inner-peace to evolve. Participants will also gain a better understanding of working with subtle energies.
